Introducing Lutz Super Citrus Spikes! 8-4-8 Spike with Fe, Mn, Mg, Cu, Zn, B and Sulfur Our Super Citrus Tablets have been on the market for years, and been hugely popular with our potted Citrus customers (see Martha Stewarts video to the right). After many customer requests over the years, from customers with larger, in-ground citrus, we decided to duplicate the nutrients of our Citrus Tablet, and now have available a Super Citrus Spike. Same material, but in spike form, which is a much easier in-ground application. The Super Citrus Spike and Tablet is the result of a request to us from Naples Fertilizer & Garden Center of Naples, FL. They wanted a tablet of the same specification as their citrus granular fertilizer, which was formulated several years ago to meet the need of Florida citrus. |

How Lutz Citrus Spikes Work On Citrus Trees
- Lutz Super Citrus Spikes are for installation into the root zone area.
- When placed into the ground around the tree or shrub, the Spikes begin to dissolve, slowly lowering pH, allowing uptake of all the critical elements in the Spike.
- It takes up to twelve months for the Citrus Spikes to completely dissolve. Late Fall or early Spring applications, done annually, is recommended.
- Citrus Spikes work underground at the feeder roots to release their elements where trees get their nourishment. They cannot be washed away like surface applications.

Measure the diameter of tree trunk 2 feet above ground level. Use one Spike for every inch of diameter. Place Spikes into moist soil, equally spaced around the dripline, never closer than 2 feet (24 inches) from trunk.
Hammer Spikes to ground level using the plastic pounding caps. Remove cap and pound in at least two more inches. Heel the holes closed.

Gainesville, FL The Super Citrus Tree Fertilizer Tablets are the result of a request to us from Naples Fertilizer & Garden Center of Naples, FL. They wanted a citrus tree fertilizer tablet of the same specification as their citrus tree granular fertilizer, which was formulated several years ago to meet the need of Florida citrus trees. The advantage of Lutz Super Citrus Tree Fertilizer Tablets over broadcasting granular fertilizer is that the Tablets feed for up to 12 months. For example, soil testing done by Dr. Arvel Hunter of Agro Services of Orange City, Florida, documents that 70% of broadcasted fertilizer is lost in sandy soils after 10" of water (rain + irrigation). The average annual rain plus irrigation in Florida is over 65 inches, therefore it takes several broadcast feedings to achieve the results of one Lutz Citrus Tree Fertilizer Tablet feeding. |
How Lutz Citrus Tablets Work On Citrus Trees
- Install Lutz Citrus tablets in the root zone area.
- Each tablets contains elements required in citrus trees, plus elemental sulfur which create an environment in the feeding area to assist in the uptake of these elements. Special binders safely release the elements over time.
- When placed in the ground, the tablets dissolve slowly for up to twelve months. Lutz tablets work underground at the feeder roots to release the elements where the trees get their nourishment. They can't wash away like surface applications.
Suggested Coverage & Placement of Tablets
Use 5 tablets per inch of trunk diameter. Place tablets two to four inches deep, equally spaced around the drip line. Reapply annually.
